
The Basic Training of Primary Animal Health Workers (PAHWs) now complete, the new recruits have set off to practice theirs skills in their communities! Mentors from DAFO and the
Veterinarians without Borders/Vétérinaires sans Frontières – Canada's (VWB/VSF) ‘Ecohealth and Veterinary Extension Project’ in Lao PDR aims to increase capacity in animal healthcare, improve opportunities for village communities to raise healthier animals, and to improve their well-being through improved agricultural practices and ecosystem approaches to health.
VWB/VSF works with the National University of Laos (NUOL) and other local partners to support community development and train Primary Animal Health Workers (PAHWs) in Lao PDR. Activities include mentoring, livestock clinics, livelihoods activities and Community Health Days.
